In this video I show you how to run Android apps in Google Chrome. For this to work you will want Chrome 37 (or above) and the ArChon Runtime and a modified Android app, I’ll explain this later in the tutorial.

Installing ArChon Runtime

1. Firstly, we’ll want to download the ArChon Runtime (you can get thathere and choose either the 32 or 64 bit version).
2. Once it’s downloaded, unzip the archive.
3. Go to your extensions page by going onto Menu > More Tools > Extensions.
4. Enable Developer Mode by checking the box at the top right.
5. Click “Load unpacked extension”.
6. Browse and select the folder containing the ArChon Runtime.

The ArChon runtime will now be running as an extension in Chrome. If you see warnings do not worry as these will not affect the ability to run Android apps.

Installing Apps

There are two methods of getting android apps. One of them is to find an APK on the Internet (It is unlikely that a developer of a free app will not be concerned if you download an APK of their app of the web. However download a paid app APK is piracy and is illegal. We do not support piracy, we support the developers so download paid apps by paying for them) or use an installed app from your Android device. If the app does not work in Chrome, don’t write a bed review for the app as ArChon is not stable software and Android apps are not designed to be run on other operating systems other than Android.

Also, apps such as games haven’t worked for me so I’d stick to less resource intense apps.

twerk

If you have downloaded an APK from the web, you can use the Chrome App twerk to convert the APK.

1. Download twerk from the Chrome Web Store.
2. Open twerk and drop the APK package onto the pink button that says “Drop APK Here”.
3. Fill out the Application Name, for this example I used “Amazon”.
4. Fill out the package name, for this example I used “com.amazon.mShop.android”. Just make sure you do not add ‘.apk’ to the end of your package name.
5. Flip the switches to get the options you want for your app.
6. Click the twerk icon on the bottom of the app to convert your APK.
7. Open the Extensions page in Chrome.
8. Click “Load unpacked extensions.”
9. Select the folder of the app you just made in twerk.

ArChon Packager

If you want to use an application on your Android device, you can use theArChon Packager.

1. Download ArChon Packager from the Google Play Store.
2. Tap “Next”.
3. Select “Installed Application”.
4. Select the app from the list that you want to use.
5. Tap “Next”.
6. Make sure the settings are right, and then tap “Next”.
7. Plug in your device into your computer.
8. Navigate to the “ChromeAPKS” folder.
9. Copy the ZIP archive from your device onto your computer.
10. Extract the archive.
11. Open the Extensions page in Chrome.
12. Click “Load unpacked extensions.”
13. Select the folder of the archive.

Running the App

Go to your Chrome apps page and select the app you just created. If you do not have a Chrome Apps shortcut on the bookmarks bar, right click on it and select “Show apps shortcut”, or go to chrome://apps to show your Chrome apps.

Blocking Annoying Emails on your Gmail Account

Blocking unwanted emails in gmail is farely easy though, no software to install and no coding needed as the secret is in gmail already and you only need to learn on how to use it and that is why I am here to teach you how! Step-by-step Tutorial

The long method

• First you need to copy or collect email addresses that you want to blocked. An easy approach is to go to the emails one by one and copy their email addresses and paste on a notepad file.

• Now open up your gmail account.
• Click on the “Gear” icon just below your profile photo located at the upper right corner and click on “Settings”

• Click on the “Filters and Blocked Addresses” and then create a filter.

• Enter the Email address you want to get blocked on the “from” field and enter your own email address in the “to” field. The image below will explain in great detail on how to setup.

• Click on “Create filter with this search to continue on the second settings tab. Image below will explain in great details. (Note: Leave blank the “Subject”, “Has the words”, “Doesn’t have” to automatically select each and every email that email address has sent you.)

• Just follow my setup if you want to just block emails from certain email address unless otherwise you have other ideas in mind feel free to explore.

• And your done….

And that is how you block unwanted emails keep away from your gmail accounts. I am not sure if this applies to other mail servers like yahoo and msn but I am pretty sure this feature is already available on those mail servers.

Hiding wp-admin folder on your wordpress site

Securing your website is a very crucial part of being a webmaster especially if you are using CMS like wordpress. WordPress is the past has been a testing ground of hackers making infected sites zombies that follow orders from the hackers. Fortunately, wordpress has updated their platform to be bulletproof from possible future attacks and make webmasters websites more secure.

However, you can’t deny the fact that your wp-admin folder is bare naked for the public access. Everyone can just visit your login page by just going to http://hackolo.com/wp-admin and there you have it! The webmasters login page! Makes me anxious knowing that everyone can easily go there and input  some random username and password until they got the correct ones. Although this is very unlikely to happen since there are Billions of combination your keyboard can produce.  Many webmasters uses some general passwords and especially the legendary “admin” as username will dampen your spirit when a hacker successfully entered your website.

Below is the perfect method on hiding your wp-admin folder from public

By the use of a wordpress plugin called iThemes Security Check. Simply install and activate it.

• Go to your “Plugins” menu and click on “Add Plugin”
• Search on “ithemes security check” and hit enter

• Click on “Install” (the image below says “Installed” since I already got this plugin)

• Now, go to the plugin dashboard and click on “Settings” tab
• Click on “Choose a section” and select “Hide Login Area”

• On the Hide login area section tick on “Enable Hide Backend Feature” and enter the new address just like the example below.

• The SAVE it! Viola! Now the next time you login is by using the new address you just entered. Don’t forget unless you want to be locked out from your own website!

When someone visited your default login page like http://hackolo.com/wp-admin they will be redirected to a 404 page since this is not working anymore. Just like the image below.

You’re the only that knew the right address to login! Sounds really cool right? Now secure your website now!

USB Killer v2.0 – The Next Level of Computer Destruction Has Arrived!

If you are familiar with the chaos caused by Killer USB, you would probably be shocked to know that an even powerful version of the previous damage-maker has been released.

Not too long back (in March to be precise), a Russian security researcher came up with something that become popular over the Internet as the Killer USB. It was a weird USB stick capable of destroying the sensitive components of a PC when plugged-in.

However, now the same person, popularly known by his nickname Dark Purple, has come up with something that’s an even bigger trouble to worry about, the advanced version of the Killer USB, which is the USB Killer v2.0. The latter is believed to be way more powerful even than the former, and seemingly, it’s capable of causing more destruction than just damaging the sensitive components of a computer.

How powerful this version is?

Well, let us first take a detailed look at what the first version, the Killer USB was capable of in order to understand exactly how it’s latest version can be way more powerful and destructive.

The Killer USB would consist of a DC/DC converter, an FET as well as a few caps. This device, which would almost look as normal as the genuine USB devices out there, would end up charging the caps up to -110V immediately on plugging in. This would lead to the same voltage being applied to signal lines of the USB interface. Finally, this process would keep repeating until everything you can imagine a computer to contain is rendered in a perfectly useless and worthless state.

Well, honestly speaking, this guy who developed these terrible USB sticks seems a bit crazy to say the least. What makes us say that? Well, he himself demonstrated how the latest version of his Killer USB works, and to do so, he ended up destroying his brand new Lenovo Thinkpad X60 laptop. He has even posted the video to YouTube (you can play the video below). Basically this is the best method on how to destroy someones PC using a USB Stick/Flashdrive.

Furthermore, he even mentioned to the people watching his video that they need not worry about the laptop, as a new motherboard was on the way to replace the destroyed one. However, he also says that he didn’t actually plan to do that initially, as the laptop was just supposed to be used for test purpose only.

You will probably be surprised to know that devices such as this Killer USB and its latest version, the USB Killer v2.0, are not at all a new concept. USB drives are being used from quite a long time now to attack the components of systems in air-gapped networks.

As an example, let us mention that there’s also something known as Stuxnet worm. It actually started as a USB drive, and is aimed at destroying centrifuges at the Nuclear facility. Well, that makes us conclude that hackers can even turn your computer into a bomb if they want to, and make it explode as well.

Well, from everything that has been mentioned above, one can easily conclude that not all USB drives would serve the same purpose they are supposed to. Sometimes, they can work in the most unimaginable ways ever, and result in things that could make you end up with losing things you can’t actually afford to lose.

With that said, the next time you see a USB drive which isn’t yours but looks as normal as all the other ones out there, you might want to think twice or even more before inserting it into your laptop or computer.
